Usually people tend to cope surprisingly very well with pressures in their lives. They know exactly when to take a break and watch out for the situation differently or ask others for support. On the other hand, many other people tend to cope with stress in such a way that is actually self-destructive!

Stress does not have any harmful effects, until one is aware of the unrelieved pressure of their lives. The many sources of stress, the many are the ways for dealing with it. People do not really realize that most of the stress the encounter is usually self-imposed. Later, it contributes to physical and behavioral symptoms such as;

  • headache
  • blood pressure fluctuations (high or low)
  • muscular tensions or pains
  • skin problems such as acne
  • sleeping problems
  • procrastination
  • working too much or nothing at all and so on…

Further, engaging with therapy and seeking help from a psychologist or a professional, can allow one to unburden themselves and gain a fresh, positive and motivational mindset so that one can open up to learning new coping strategies.

There are various issues which can be dealt by stress counseling, such as;

  • work pressure
  • family stresses
  • relationship fears
  • panic attacks
  • sulkiness
  • constant worries

Regrettably, many individuals have unhealthy responses that bring out the stress reaction;

Denial – It is very difficult for one to release tension if at first they do not accept that it is there.
Avoidance – It attempts to tiptoe around the trouble by exchanging one thing for the other.

All in all, blind spots, inner conflicts and vague trauma offer life’s stressors with opportunities to gradually take hold and breed beyond the individual’s capacity to deal with them and so stress management counseling could help one learn what in reality is causing stress, anxiety or panic and how one could regain the control, also it would help one discover how to categorize stress and anxiety triggers and minimise their physical and behavioral symptoms. Once the stress reactions decrease our quality of life, therapy can help us to make serious changes in order to live in a happier and more effective way!
